This past weekend was the J. Reuben Clark Law Society,
Pacific Area conference here at the Pacific Area offices. The Associate Area Legal Counsel from
Australia, Lane Archibald and his wife Chris, joined us for the event. The gathering was informative and
interesting. It was fun to see other
attorney’s and their wives from all over the Pacific Area and find out about
their experiences. I especially enjoyed
meeting the spouses of the young attorneys.
They were all so wide eyed. It
still seems a bit strange to experience legal jargon and church culture all
mixed together. I have a suspicion that
if all legal work was conducted with Heavenly Father’s spirit, there would be
less contention and more would be accomplished…..just saying J
The conference treated us to dinner at the Sky Tower in
downtown Auckland. The 360 degree view
was spectacular and the food delicious.
Auckland is typical of any big city, narrow streets, lots of people and
a bit dingy. Maybe it was just the time
of year, but everything seemed to need a good washing. I decided that Auckland is worth exploring
more, but I love my quiet, coastal Takapuna.
